A rather obscure novel by a prolific late 19th century writer who achieved her greatest success with children's books; the adult novels all have broadly similar themes derived from the moral tale so beloved by the mid-Victorians. This one traces the progress of the eponymous heroine in a variety of domestic scenes. Undated; the book was published in 1896 and the remnant of a prize label to ffep bears the date April 30th 1897, so this is either a first or very early edition.
